Potassium phosphates

Sodium chloride

20 mEq/L

Sodium acetate

20 mEq/L

Magnesium sulfate

3 mEq/L

Cysteine HCl

40 mg/g of amino acids

Pediatric trace elements

3 mL/L

Heparin sodium

500 units/L

Calcium gluconate

variable

Comments: The compatibility of calcium and phosphate was determined in a neonatal TPN admixture at 37 C over 24 hours. Visual inspection and electronic particulate analysis were performed. Cysteine HCl lowers the pH and increases the amount of calcium and phosphate that can be added.
