External Order Interface Settings Screen
(screen # 065)

 The External Order Interface allows the submission of TPN orders and order cancellations from an external administrative system, and notifies the external system when each TPN order is completed.

This screen is used to enter or change the External Order Interface configuration information.  The screen data entry form fields and specific instructions are described below.

Establishing an interface to an external administrative system usually requires information systems department assistance.

Screen Data Entry Fields:

Interface Status

  Description:

Indicates if the external order interface is available for use

  Type :

Enabled / Disabled

  Default Value :

Disabled

Specifics:  To enable the reception of orders via the External Interface, set the status to Enabled.  The interface must be enabled for Order Completion Notifications to be sent to an External system.  If disabled, orders from the External system will be rejected and events will not be reported to External system .

Acess Name,
Access Password

  Description:

Connection Name & Password

  Type :

Text, 15 (name), 30 (password) characters maximum

  Default Value :

None
Specifics :  This name and password must be supplied by the External system when submitting a request.
Example:  "Name:  user8953,  Password:  hq75kk99"

  Description:

Defaults for New Patient records

  Type :

None
Specifics :  Select the desired defaults to use for new patient records received via the External Interface.  If no default is selected, then the External system must specify the patient type in it's order submission request.

Host Identifier

  Description:

Descriptive name for External System

  Type :

Text, 255 characters maximum

  Default Value :

None
Specifics :  An identifying name of the External System.
Example :  "localhost"

Optional Data Entry Field

URL Address

  Description:

Compounding Event Notification URL Address

  Type :

Text, 255 characters maximum

  Default Value :

None
Specifics :  The address to send events (e.g. Compounding Completed) to.  This address can be in any of the following forms:
   '127.0.0.1'
   'www.example.com'
  
'ssl://www.example.com'
Example :  "localhost"

Optional Data Entry Field

Port Number

  Description:

Compounding Event Notification Port Number

  Type :

Numeric, 4 digits maximum

  Default Value :

None
Specifics :  The port to use in conjunction with the URL address.  The port must match the event handling listner part of the External System.
Example :  "5555"

Optional Data Entry Field

Form (page) Name

  Description:

Compounding Event Notification Form

  Type :

Text, 255 characters maximum

  Default Value :

None
Specifics :  The form to submit events to (if necessary) at the URL address and port specified above.
Example :  "'compounder_event_handler.asp'"

Optional Data Entry Field

Link Timeout

  Description:

Compounding Event Notification Port Number

  Type :

Numeric, Seconds units

  Default Value :

30 Seconds
Specifics :  The amount of time to wait for a response from the External System.  If your System requires more time, increase this value.
Example :  "120"
